Both of these are typically accessed by end users or customers in real-time and faults are difficult to detect. Monitoring them is often vital and in the on-line world something that needs to be done continuously. Although there are a number of approaches to this, one of the best is to actually do what the end user or customer would - access the URL or upload a file and see what happens!
